Dialysis Machine Solenoid Valve Tests are Easy when using a Bartol Mag-Probe. Typically downtime can cost quite a bit of money, especially if the problem is not solved quickly. Downtime of equipment in an industrial environment can cost companies hundreds of thousands of dollars per minute. But what happens in a medical environment on a dialysis machine when it becomes critical. On a dialysis machine it is a matter of life and death for many for those needing regular treatment. Although the threat may not be immediate it can cause many physical problems for the patient if there are delays based on no back up machines available. I was very encouraged to read the following email from from John out of Jacksonville Florida.
Mr. Bartol,
Your product works very well. I like the compact design and ease of use. I utilize it mainly in the troubleshooting of solenoid valves in dialysis machines. The opportunity to see that a valve is physically opening or closing real time significantly reduces searching for a valve which may be causing flow errors.
Sincerely John
It has been my experience that intermittent problems on flow control valves are some of the hardest to find. Many tests have to be accomplished while the machines are fully operational in order to quickly pin point the malfunction, which is virtually impossible with most test equipment because you never really know if the contact you are making is good. Many conventional tests for these type of problems are hit and miss at best and valuable time and money is lost as a result. I totally understand the problems when testing flow control valves. Flow control valve testing can be a nightmare for technicians, especially with the pressure of deadlines.
The Mag-Probe is a non-contact solenoid valve and relay tester that is intrinsically safe to use when testing solenoid valves and relays in any environment. Even better it allows the technician to make any test while the equipment is fully operational without making contact, eliminating much of the guess work, and drastically reducing downtime. A self test can be made before testing any solenoid valve or relay using the enclosed ring magnet which is located inside the red cap of the clear Mag-Probe storage tube.
